Pike Lock Boat

Pike Lock Boat is a 15.6 foot Caracruiser trailboat of fibreglass construction. Despite her small size she boasts two double beds, a toilet and a cooker. Caracruisers, unlike many small fibreglass cabin cruisers, have a decent standing headroom of 6’1″ throughout.

Caracruisers have a trailer that is ‘T’ shaped. The long centre bar of the trailer locks into a corresponding section of the underside of the hull when in transport on the roads. The hull has wheel arches to incorporate the wheels.

Pike Lock Boat, since her recommissioning in 2001, has been powered by a 4 horsepower 4-stroke Mariner outboard. This has provided adequate thrust on canal and river trips while also being economical to run.

The Caracruiser consists of one main room with two separate small compartments on either side at the rear – One housing the toilet and the other being a storage cupboard. The main area has a double bed/bench for the helmsman at the front and a double bed/bench for seating on the port side. These arrangements change between day and night configurations.

There is a 2-burner hob and grill along side the sink/drainer in the galley area on the starboard side.

Storage is found underneath the seating along the sides of the boat and underneath the galley area.
